Today our sweet little baby, who isn’t much of a baby anymore, turns 2!! Who said that was okay 😉
It feels like just yesterday that she was a brand new tiny baby I was holding for the first time, and yet it feels like she has always been apart of our family. We love you to pieces sweet Nora. You bring so much life, laughter and spunk to our daily lives. We wish you the happiest of birthdays baby girl!
On this day, one year ago, the sweetest little bundle of baby was born.
Sometimes in life we are given little gems. Little surprises that weren’t necessarily on our radar, or in our plan, but end up being exactly perfect. If I had planned for this baby and dreamed of her I couldn’t have ever imagined how perfectly she would fit in our family. She feels like she has always been here, though it still feels like just yesterday I was holding her in my arms for the very first time.
From day one she has been this calm, happy, inquisitive, snuggly baby. Watching her grow this past year has been such a joy and a blessing. I am so incredibly grateful to be her mommy.
Happy 1st Birthday, Nora!! I can’t wait to see what the next year, and the many years after that, have in store for you.
On Sunday Maya celebrated her 6th birthday by hosting a fun birthday bash for all her little friends at The Little Gym. Maya loves gymnastics and The Little Gym has become a sort of home away from home for us the past year, so having her birthday party there seemed like a fantastic idea. Plus, they do all the work which was a great added bonus!
The party was a blast. The girls had such an amazing time. It was so fun watching Maya interact with all her friends and enjoying being able to spend time with them just goofy off and having fun. She has made a lot of friends since moving here which has helped her feel very at home here in Seattle.
After playing their little hearts out in the gym the girls gathered in the party room for snacks and cake. The cake I ordered turned out beautifully and the girls loved it!
I still can’t believe she is 6! I’m glad she had a good birthday and got to spend a wonderful afternoon partying like a 6 year old with her friends
Happy 2nd Birthday sweet baby girl!
I cannot believe that you are already 2 years old. It feels like just yesterday that I was holding this itty bitty bundle of cuteness for the first time.
It is amazing how you have grown and changed over the last 2 years. I have loved watching it all happen. You are the sweetest little thing and have been from the moment you entered this world. You are funny, and love when you can make people laugh. You love snuggles and will come up for hugs randomly throughout the day. You are so smart, talking in complete little sentences, naming off colors left and right and even identifying several letters in the alphabet. You have always loved quietly taking in the world around you and you absorb and learn so much, so quickly that way. There is so much rolled into such a little package.
We love you to pieces sweet baby girl and have so enjoyed the last 2 years with you. We can’t wait to see what the future hold for you. Happy Birthday!!
In just 3 days this girl….

…turns 5!! I can’t quite wrap my head around that fact. She has been in our lives for half a decade, HALF A DECADE! Seriously, how is that possible? Can’t wrap my head around it.
A while back, before we knew we were moving to Seattle, Maya said that for her birthday this year she wanted to have a fancy dress party. She wanted to have her best friends come over, all dressed up in their finest, and have a birthday ball. It sounded like such a fun idea, and I was looking forward to planning it. Then we moved, and the idea of throwing a birthday party without her best little friends made me sad. I had to come up with a way to mark this occasion the way it deserves to be celebrated, and yet not bring attention to the fact that her best friends no longer live close enough to come to her party. What to do?
Well, Lorne and I talked it over and decided that the trip to Disney World we had been hoping to make sometime soon, would now be a trip to Disneyland, and it would happen now. We decided to keep it a secret. So, to celebrate her 5th birthday we will wake Maya up on Thursday and tell her that we are taking her to the “happiest place on earth”! I can’t even begin to imagine her reaction! 5 days at Disney to celebrate her 5th birthday. I can’t wait
This birthday may not be what she had originally wanted and she may not be surrounded by her best friends, but it will definitely be the kind of birthday little girl dreams are made of. And, since we are going to the world of princesses she will get that fancy dress party after all 😉
