Hi, my name’s Lisa Mitchell. What can I tell you about myself? Well, I am in my late twenties and married to my high school sweetheart. My husband and I are currently living in St. Louis, MO with our two beautiful kitties. I grew up in southern Ontario and moved here with my husband when he graduated from university. A few of my favorite things to do are curl up with a great book, take a stroll around Forest Park (a fantastic park here in St. Louis) with my husband, and catch a great concert at the Pageant or a show at the fabulous Fox Theatre. Last year I completed my bachelor’s degree in Business Administration while working full time, boy was that a lot more work than I anticipated. But enough about me, on to the website…

I suppose the seed that would eventually become this website was planted about a year ago. Around that time I started to hear my biological clock ticking, rather loudly I might add. All of a sudden I had this intense desire to have a baby. For the past year I have been obsessed with all things baby and pregnancy related. I found myself spending all my free time watching “A Baby Story” on TLC and reading everything I could get my hands on that had anything to do with pregnancy or babies.

Although I am not yet pregnant and not yet a mother (my husband’s “not ready yet”), my research has given me a wealth of information I feel compelled to share with the rest of the world, hence the creation of this website. What I noticed as I did my pregnancy research was that many of the websites out there are either too specific to a given pregnancy topic, or are too dry because of an abundance of articles written in “medical journal speak”. I was looking for something a little more personal and fun to read.

One day I started thinking about how much I love to write and have been searching for a way to improve my writing skills. This website seemed like a great way to utilize my new found knowledge of pregnancy and babies and to continue to develop my skills as a writer.

So, here it goes. Welcome to Let’s Talk Babies, where I will share with you the things I have learned, am learning, and a bunch of other stuff, in what I hope is a more entertaining format.

I am not a medical professional or an expert, you should always consult your caregiver with any specific questions or concerns you have about your pregnancy.
