Let's Talk Babies!

Things have been a bit crazy around our house lately, at least for me anyway. Between getting things ready for the upcoming arrival of Baby Girl #3 and getting things ready for Maya to head to kindergarten I feel like I’m constantly shopping, organizing, putting things together and, basically, never sitting down.

In 2 weeks my first baby will be making her big debut at kindergarten! Seriously, how is she old enough to be in kindergarten and who said she could grow up so quickly. Since the enrollment process started in the spring it has been non-stop filling out forms, dropping medical supplies (epi-pens and doctor’s orders regarding nut allergy), and attempting to get everything in place for her big first day. Thanks to all that and the fact I’m pregnant and due right around the start of school means time has flown by. I’m not sure I’m ready, emotionally anyway, for this big milestone yet.

Maya is excited about starting kindergarten. I know she is a bit nervous, she says so every so often, but all in all she is ready and excited. We’ve met a few kids in our neighborhood who will be attending kindergarten as well so she is anxious to see if any of them will be in her class. The incoming kindergarten class this year is the biggest ever, there will be a total of 6 classes, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed that at least one or two of the kids we’ve met and she has bonded with will be in her class. I know having a familiar face in the crowd will make the transition that much easier for her (and me too).

We are almost all ready for the big day. School supplies will be waiting at school for her (thanks awesome PTA program!), back to school clothes are almost all purchased, and I’m psyching myself up emotionally. 2 more weeks, I can’t believe it.
