I tend to forget how quickly babies change and grow until I see it happen right before my eyes. Seemingly overnight they learn new skills. They go to bed not knowing how to do something and wake up the next morning practically pros at it. It is truly amazing.
This past week has been one of great changes for my little Anna Banana. She is my little late bloomer. As I mentioned in my 10 month write up she wasn’t crawling yet. I wasn’t concerned as she was getting around in her own unique way and I figured she’d get it eventually. There were days where I was absolutely sure she just about to do it as she rocked with precision on her hands and knees, but nothing. Just over a week ago she figured out how to go from her hands and knees to sitting up. She had been trying to figure it out for a while but couldn’t quite get it. Then one morning I laid her down on her tummy to play and a couple of minutes later she was sitting up. She was instantly a pro and constantly sitting herself up. Within days she had figured out how to get back onto her hands and knees and was beginning to crawl a few paces forward. Now, she is all over the place, crawling like a pro!
She decided that learning to sit up on her own and crawl were not enough for one week so she decided to throw in learning to wave and clap too! I guess she figured if she was going to learn some new skills she’d go all out and learn a whole bunch all at once.
My little peanut is growing up so fast.
