Sweet baby Anna is a month old! Can you believe it, I sure can’t. It is crazy to me that just over a month ago I was still pregnant, and here I am with a tiny little one month old curled up on my chest.
Weight: 9lbs 3oz (46th percentile)
Height: 21.5 inches (64th percentile)
Head Circumference: 14.25 inches (26th percentile)
For those keeping track Anna put on a whopping 3 lbs in the last month and grew an inch and half! This explains the lack of sleep around here last week as she was waking up every 2 hours or less to eat, she was clearly in the midst of a growth spurt. Although she is still a little peanut she is putting on weight like a champ and her pediatrician was very impressed with her growth and development.
The past month has gone by in such a blur. Watching a newborn grow before your eyes while taking care of a 3 and a half year old will do that. Anna has changed so much in the last month. She has grown some adorably pinchable chubby cheeks and is sporting quite the double chin. Her arms and legs are gaining those sweet, soft rolls of baby fat. /sge is awake more regularly, though still sleeps most of the day. Today I had my first really interactive moment with her. We were laying on my bed after she had eaten this morning, waiting for Maya to wake up, and she was cooing like crazy and smiling at me. It truly made my day!
Our breastfeeding relationship is still going strong. She is eating every 2 hours during the day and most nights goes 3-4 hour stretches. We are both learning to adjust our routine to deal with my overactive letdown and slowly it is causing less fussiness and gassiness. We both are enjoying the nursing experience and have built quite the bond.
Maya is enjoying her little sister more and more, although she can’t wait for her to get bigger and become more playful. Every day she asks me when she is going to be able to play with toys and crawl
I’m so in love with this little girl.
