Couldn’t agree more about Max & Ruby. Seriously, where are those parents? And why does Ruby have to be so annoying?!

Also, Punkin knows there are 2 shows that we do not watch: Spongebob and Barney. If you ask him, he will tell you, those shows are not allowed!

@Carol – OMG, yes! I H.A.T.E. Dora with a passion. Her and Diego. V loves them and people keep buying her videos that result in epic meltdowns if she’s not allowed to watch. Really, it’s a losing battle around here.

@Nic – 90210? Really? But that show was so (relatively) tame. What did your parents hate about it?

@Andrea – Spongebob is totally on my list. V’s never watched an episode and I don’t plan on letting her start now. Detest that show.

@Heather – BWAHAHAHAHAHA, I can’t believe I never thought of the teenage parent angle. DAMN. That is awesome.
We let V watch Kai Lan only because V is more understandable in Chinese than English.

SO, my theory on Ruby is that she’s a teenage parent….the truth just hasn’t come out yet.

Dora is 3 and explores the world by herself.

Kai Lan speaks Chinese…my kid can’t even speak English.

Ah, yes. I have banned so many TV shows it isn’t even funny. Pretty much anything I loved as a kid, now showing on Cartoon Network? HELL NO.

Most of the stuff on Nick? HELL NO.

At least half the stuff on Disney Channel? HELL NO.

Even Sprout/PBS have a few that are too annoying for words, and I have had to ban them.

My husband is in the dog house for letting the kids watch SPONGEBOB for, like, three freaking hours while I went to get my hair done last weekend.

Yes, I am the TV Nazi and I am damn proud of it!

i wasn’t allowed to watch beverly hills 90210 when i was in middle school. so i spent the night at my friend’s house every friday because she taped it (ah, remember when we used to tape tv shows?)

My kids are older, but I still have cartoons that I don’t let them watch. Like Ed, Edd and Eddie (is that still on?) simply because I saw a couple shows and it seemed like they celebrated stupidity. I don’t mind silliness, but I have a limit. I try to keep an open mind about most of the Disney shows, because when I have concerns I just make sure we talk about it. And when all else fails I just say to them, “TV rots your brain, go ride your bike or read a book.” Usually, they do.

Um, yeah. Max and Booby is banned from this house as well. I got away with never letting my son watch Barney but my daughter got a glimpse of him and fell in love, to my horror.

bwahahaha too dang funny!! wait until V is older and that list will become HUGE! ugh, like for instance, who puts “adult swim” on the cartoon network? granted kids shouldnt be awake that late in the evening, but it happens..
