christmas-presents

I’m not much of a shopper.  I don’t mind shopping for household stuff, groceries, etc as long as I can go to the store during non-peak hours when there is hardly anyone else there.  Mall shopping (most of the year) is like me least favorite thing to do.  I hate crowds, especially in a store when I’m on a mission for a few items and everyone else is in my way and slowing me down.  That being said I LOVE Christmas shopping.

There is just something so wonderful about walking around a store during the Christmas rush with all the other shoppers looking for that perfect gift for the next person on your list.  The carols playing softly (or not so softly as seems to be the case in a lot of stores) over the sound system, the beautiful decorations hung around the store and that feeling of Christmas in the air, it all makes crazy holiday shopping so much fun.  I love buying gifts for the friends and family on my list.  It’s so fun picking out the perfect gift to suit each one, just knowing they’ll love it.

This year we exchanged names with my family and Lorne’s family so our list of people to buy for has shrunk this year.  The names I picked were two easy and fun to buy for names, I was so happy with how that turned out.  I’ve already purchased one of the gifts and I know exactly what the other one will be and will likely hit the mall this weekend to pick it up.  My two nephews gifts have been purchased as well, it’s fun to have some kids in the family to buy for now.  I’ve ordered a few stocking stuffers online for Maya but still have  to pick up several things for her.  Toy store here I come.

There’s only one name on my list this year that is proving hard to buy for, my husband. It’s like this every year.  For some reason he is really hard to buy for.  I’ve got a few ideas but I think I may need to just go wander around a few stores to see if anything inspires me.  Since everyone else on my list is easy to buy for I guess I can’t complain having one who isn’t.  If he would just make a Christmas list it would be so much easier (hint hint Honey;))

Time to hit the mall for a little Christmas shopping :)
